New Superman Trailer
Really looking forward to this... has to be better than X-men III and Mission Impossible III.
Please!
The two aforementioned movies were good... but not great. Superman deserves to be great and I have alot of confidence in director Bryan Singer... plus he's gay :)

Spiderman's Bulge
While I'm in a pervy mood... here's some pics of Spidey's stunt double on the set of the third movie.... pity its not Tobey's package. The rumour has it, however, that his package was rather defined in the first version of the Spidey suit, so it was back to the drawing board... apparently the size of his bulge would have been rather distracting.
Mariah Carey's Legs
Instead of blogging about the incredible amount of new celebrity babies.... Mariah has gone and insured her legs for $2 million.... anyone got a baseball bat??

Britney Spears is Sad
London paper 'the Daily Mirror' says that Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are finished, and for the first time Britney's spokesmen is not denying reports that a divorce is eminent. Britney and Kevin have not been seen together for weeks and reports claim Kevin has been banished to living in the basement of their Malibu home. The final straw may have been when Britney returned from New York early this week and found Kevin once again drunk and stoned, but the dye was really all but cast after Kevin spent Mothers Day with Shar Jackson - the mother of his first two children - instead of Britney. Even though Britney is worth more than 120 million dollars, getting rid of Kevin may cost her as little as 350,000 and a half share of their Malibu home, thanks to an extremely strict prenuptial agreement.
A source says: "Their relationship has totally broken down. Britney desperately wanted it to work and still does for the sake of their family, but she has had enough of him and the awful friends he hangs around with."
I suppose that is what happens when you get married in Vegas....
Prince on American Idol.... Briefly
This story is from contactmusic.com:
Pop superstar PRINCE kept tense producers of AMERICAN IDOL guessing after failing to show for his surprise performance during the talent show's finale on Wednesday (24MAY06) until the last minute. Show host RYAN SEACREST feared he'd have to fill in for the pop star when he still hadn't arrived at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood for his live performance as the big reveal started. The US TV personality even stated, "No more surprises," just in case Prince failed to show - but then the singer walked onto the stage and wowed the crowd and millions of TV viewers. Seacrest recalls, "We're in a commercial break just before the surprise of Prince and he wasn't at the Kodak Theatre, so what do we do? "
"That does it for all of the guest stars this evening. No more surprises; that was fun huh? Did you enjoy that ladies and gentlmen? Good stuff. Now we move into the big part of the show, the results portion. Your American Idol this year. Who is it going to be? One more time let me hear you loud here in Hollywood!", announces Seacrest.
He walked on the stage 30 seconds before he was to go live, sings and was in his car before I toss to the next commercial break. He was there for a total of five-and-a-half minutes."
All I can say is good on ya Prince... He obviously thought the show was beneath him, but couldn't ignore the promotional opportunity... what a bad motherfucker!
This is just days after he was voted "sexiest male vegetarian".... maybe if he ate more meat, he'd wouldn't be as arrogant... hehehe

Dragon King of Hogwarts
A dragon-like dinosaur named after Harry Potter's alma mater has performed a bit of black magic on its own family tree, say paleontologists who unveiled the "Dragon King of Hogwarts" on Monday in Albuquerque. Read more HERE
Hmmmm.... J.K. Rowling would be chuffed... it's not everyday that one of you're fictional creations gets a dinosaur named after it. Mind you, I think it is very aptly named... the only better name would be one for Smaug the dragon from LOTR.

DVD Capture
Finally, after a few years, I worked out how to capture images from a DVD... turns out I had the program all along with the function built in.
It's always frustrated me how you never get really good photos of scenes from movies, especially those with SFX. I always thought it would be a great idea for some to licence screen grabs and sell them as art prints. I mean, how good would the obscure pic I grabbed from King Kong look blown up on a big canvas, especially for a vintage car enthusiast. I must admit, I have seen a company that offers some nice big Star Wars prints... even offering prints that will cover your entire wall like wallpaper. Awesome stuff.
Megatron
(Close-up)
So as inspiration hit me, I thought I'd start it straight away, (part of my problem is I have great ideas, but never start them) This time I was determined to finish it, and finish it I did. After giving up my days off to do this for two weeks, I finally completed it. There were a few choices I had, but I always loved transformers as a kid, and I found a decent source pic to go from. I was also trying to find a good pic of He-man on Battlecat or one of the AT-AT's from Empire Strikes Back.(Click on pic to enlarge)
I chose quite a complicated procedure to do an otherwise simple straighforward painting... except for the fact that I wanted white lines on a dark background. Its hard to get fine lines without going over them alot to get them nice and white. So I took a different approach, after the pencil drawing, I did a yellow wash so when I painted the white lines I could still see them. To preserve the white lines when I did the dark background I masked them out with brown latex. When the background was dry, I pulled off the latex to reveal the white lines underneath.
This technique gave the whole image a very rough quality which contrasted nicely with the geometric shapes.... overall I'm quite happy with the final result.
Bonsai
This is one of my favourite bonsai of my entire collection. This bouganvillia started off in my parents backyard about 10 years ago. They wanted to get rid of it, so I dug up the stump with very little root and shoved it in a hessian sack filled with soil. On closer inspection, I realised that half of it was dead, so I proceeded to carve it with little wood carving tools... the first time I'd carved a bonsai. When it began growing again, I potted it in a pot.... it went from being about 8m high to about 60cm. It is a very usual design, apart from the excessive amount of dead wood, all the branches cascade from one that originates at the very top of the stump. After it became a bonsai it flowered very little, which was very depressing. But when I moved last, I placed it in an extremely sunny and hot position and flowering is all it does now.... even in Autumn... it varies in colour too, from magenta to white.

Kylie Back in the Studio
It looks like Kylie Minogue is well on her way to recovery. She's been making appearance, attending events and now she's back in the recording studio as well. Along with working on the new album, Kylie's scheduled to perform a few concerts at the end of the year in Australia and she's said to be in talks to headline at next summer's Glastonbury festival.
Kylie Minogue told me she's back in the recording studio, working on a new album, for the first time since she was diagnosed with cancer. The 37-year-old singer said she was feeling "good" and taking "baby steps" back into work.
She turned up at the opening of Elton John's Lestat musical with Lulu and Scott Hoffman of Scissor Sisters.
"I'm working with a few people, just kicking some ideas around. It's fun to be working again and sitting down and making music. "I'm taking it slowly. You know, baby steps. We're taking one baby step at a time.
"It's early days and I'm not sure what shape things are going to take yet. Really, what we're doing is messing around in the studio with different people and seeing what comes up.
"I don't know yet what songs I'm going to sing, or how I'm going to sing them, or what they're going to be about.'
I still have concert tickets, and am really looking forward to seeing her live for the third time. I wonder if she'll have an album out before the concert.....
Brad as Jesse James
Brad's new movie "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" looks very interesting... I haven't heard much about it, but the guy who made the trailer did incredibly well with next to no footage... and plus Brad looks hot :)

Dance Album for Robbie???
"Rock DJ Robbie Williams is rumoured to be recording a dance album aimed at his gay fan base. The singer is reported to have teamed up with dance producer William Orbit, who has also worked with Madonna, for the tracks. Sources claim Williams wants to make a more pop and dance related record to be released under a different name. "
Was wondering when this would happen... I thought that if Madonna's "Confessions" was a hit, that a heap of people would jump on the band-wagon.... but Robbie?? Certainly he has the talent and it would have to be better than some of his "rock" songs, but he was the last person I'd expect.... Let Madonna's influence reign supreme....
