The Whole Bloody Affair.... Finally??

Two years ago Quentin Tarantino piqued the interest of film fans everywhere when he promised two new anime companion films to “Kill Bill,” one supposedly about the origin of The Bride and the other about Bill himself.

We don’t know what’s happened to the story of The Bride, but the other animated film is going to blow you away, insisted star Uma Thurman.

“His anime stuff is strong,” she smiled.

We say we don’t know what happened to the story of the Bride, by the way, because Thurman claims to have never recorded a voice-over for the anticipated project.

“It has nothing to do with me,” she said. “It has to do with another character. You’ll have to see.”
That screams Bill to us. But the best part? It looks as if we’ll get to “see” real soon, perhaps as part of an expanded DVD release, Thurman teased, indicating that the short will be part of a larger re-release for “Kill Bill.”

“Right now he’s putting the two films together with an intermission with an added anime sequence he had already written,” she said of the ongoing saga of Beatrix Kiddo. “So additional stories are in there, in animation.”

The Geekiest Pants… Ever?

Designer Erik De Nijs, has stitched together this eye catching pair of “Beauty and the Geek” jeans. These “modern shaped trousers which are often worn by youngsters..” are the perfect solution for Googling quick exits while running from the fashion police. Built into the knees are a pair of crotch rocking speakers, around the back you have the added convenience of a back pocket for your “mouse”, and for you gamers, there is a joystick controller located just behind the front zipper.

I wouldn't mind a pair of these.... helps that the guy is pretty cute... hehehe

Original Ending for "I Am Legend"

Posted online is this absolutely wicked ending... so much better than what was in the theatrical version. This gives the zombies a point for all that mayhem in his house, makes them much scarier because they are like us. Much better than Will Smith dying, just seems pointless.

Hope you enjoy!

Retro Star Wars Credits

Here's a fan-made credit sequence inspired by Saul Bass's title sequence's of the fifties and sixties. A retro seventies film made even cooler, you almost don't miss the usual title scroll.

NIN's Ghosts

Nine Inch Nails is the latest band to distribute its music online without a label, offering a 36-track album in multiple digital and physical formats.

The group's latest music project, Ghosts I-IV, was released on the Nine Inch Nails Web site today. The album can be downloaded for US$5 in MP3, FLAC or AAC formats. A 40-page PDF booklet and "digital extras" including wallpapers and icons are included in the download package.
Alternatively, the first nine tracks -- along with the booklet and extras -- can be obtained for free in MP3 format. All files are DRM-free.

In a statement posted on the band's Web site, lead singer Trent Reznor called the project "a wildly varied body of music that we're able to present to the world in ways the confines of a major record label would never have allowed -- from a 100 percent DRM-free, high-quality download, to the most luxurious physical package we've ever created".

The "luxurious physical package" option refers to a limited edition US$300 set that includes four vinyl LPs, a 48-page book of photographs, two art prints and a photograph-and-music slideshow on Blu-ray disc. Each set is signed by Reznor.

Two other physical formats complete the list of options: a US$10 two-CD set and a US$75 version with DVD full of session WAV files, Blu-ray disc and photo book. Both include access to downloadable versions of the album in a choice of three file types.

Heath Ledger Dead at 28

28-year-old Australian actor Heath Ledger was found dead in his New York City Soho apartment earlier this afternoon. Details are still forthcoming as to the cause of death though police are investigating a potential drug overdose as pills were found in the vicinity of the bed in which his body was discovered. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne tells USA Today that Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let him know the masseuse had arrived found him dead at 3:26pm.
The very sad and unexpected news has shocked everyone. Ledger leaves behind a daughter, Matilda.
The young actor made a name for himself on Australian soaps and films like "Sweat," "Home and Away" and "Two Hands". He quickly landed the lead in the short-lived US fantasy series "Roar" before hitting movie stardom with such projects as "A Knight's Tale," "The Patriot," and "10 Things I Hate About You".
After a few years of misfires like "The Order," "The Four Feathers" and "Ned Kelly", the actor had a resurrgence with his Oscar-nominated performance in 2005's "Brokeback Mountain" which drew him great acclaim.
His most recent on-screen appearance was the Bob Dylan biopic "I'm Not There", and his final full role will be as The Joker in one of this year's biggest films - the "Batman Begins" sequel "The Dark Knight". Ledger had finished shooting the film, though apparently some audio looping had yet to take place.
Ledger had been shooting "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" in the UK for Terry Gilliam.

RIP brother....

2008: Time of Beauty

This year I want to really focus on enjoying the beautiful and simple things in life... hopefully also creating a few too. Too often beautiful things are overlooked without us having time to enjoy them. The image above is a background from The Simpson Movie, which lasts onscreen for about 3 seconds. Below is the simple, yet elegant flight of a paper aeroplane through the streets of New York. Hope you take the time to appreciate them!
